The Squaw Valley Community of Writers joins Litquake

One of the oldest and most prestigious writers conferences in the country, the Squaw Valley Community of Writers is delighted to present five published alumni. Featuring Andrew Foster Altschul, Collen Morton Busch, Seré Prince Halverson, Thad Nodine, and Renée Thompson. This event is held in the memory of our wonderful friend, Kathi Goldmark.

Andrew Foster Altschul (’97) is the author of the novels Lady Lazarus and Deus Ex Machina. The founding books editor of The Rumpus, he currently directs the Center for Literary Arts at San José State University.

Colleen Morton Busch (’04) is the author of Fire Monks: Zen Mind Meets Wildfire, a SF Chronicle 2011 Best Book. She blogs for The Huffington Post. colleenmortonbusch.com

Seré Prince Halverson’s (’06) novel, The Underside of Joy, is forthcoming in 18 languages. Seré and her husband live in Northern California. sereprincehalverson.com

Thad Nodine (’98) is the author of Touch and Go, which won the Dana Award for the Novel. He is former fiction editor of Quarry West. He has a PhD in literature from UC Santa Cruz. nodine.net

Renée Thompson (’03/’07/’09) is the author of the novels The Plume Hunter and The Bridge at Valentine. Her stories have appeared in Narrative, Arcadia, 10,000 Tons of Black Ink, and soon, Literal Latte.
