Event 2. University Book Store presents Funny Ladies
Town Hall, Downstairs, 1119 8th Ave.
Featured wits include Jennifer Worick (Things I Want to Punch in the Face); Jane Ganahl (Naked on the Page); Litsa Dremousis (Nerve, NY Magazine) and the ever-inappropriate Diane Mapes (How to Date in a Post-Dating World). Seattle magazine’s Brangien Davis will host.
Jane Ganahl is co-founder and artistic director of San Francisco’s Litquake literary festival, which spawned the Seattle Lit Crawl. She is author of the memoir “Naked on the Page: the Misadventures of My Unmarried Midlife,” and editor of the anthology “Single Woman of a Certain Age.” A journalist of 30 years, she has contributed essays to five anthologies, and written for Salon.com, Vanity Fair.com, Rolling Stone.com, Huffington Post, Harper’s Bazaar and many more. She’s branching into screenplays because that’s where the money is. She is chronically over-committed, but thrives on chaos.
Litsa Dremousis’ work appears in The Believer, Esquire, Huffington Post, Jezebel, McSweeney’s, MSN, Nerve, New York Magazine, the Onion’s A.V. Club and in sundry other venues. She has both a vagina and a sense of humor, but intends to display only one tonight. She is completing her first novel.
